Systems Integration Engineer
Silvertone® UAV is a fully Australian-owned company designing and developing autonomous technology in the field of unmanned vehicles and requires a skilled technician and flight operator to bolster our existing team.
Currently the company has the autonomous Flamingo® Mk3 Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) in the production for demonstration, marketing and R&D purposes and has plans to develop new RPA’s. Already on our books are the Cotesia and Sparrow, with others under development.
Silvertone® UAV has contacts with various foreign defence suppliers and private sector entities and is looking to expand production to serve these markets as well.
This position is based in WAGGA WAGGA at Head Office and will report to the Program Manager, working closely with the Avionics & Software Systems Engineer and the Chief Pilot.
We need an experienced R&D or production engineer who can assist with development and maintenance of our RPA fleet. This will involve integration of customer payload options, development of new avionics packages, aircraft production and flight testing. Skills that would be beneficial include PCB design using EDA software, CAD and Solid Modelling expertise, 3D printing. Attention to detail and ability to manufacture with precision is a must.
Suitable backgrounds could involve the disciplined process applied by aircraft or vehicle design, manufacturing or maintenance, and would include documentation of process, capability to write training and operations manuals, knowledge of mechanics and electronics.
A military background (including eligibility for Defence clearance) in such skills would be advantageous.
Prior experience in remotely Piloted Aircraft manufacture and flight would also be helpful but is not critical.
